 Established from the Burkitt lymphoma (left orbital biopsy) of a 16-year-old African boy in 1967; cells were described to be EBV-positive and to express mRNA for proto-oncogene BCL2

Subculture:

 maintain at 0.5-1.0 x 10^6 cells/ml; split ratio 1:2 to 1:4 every 2-4 days; cells may grow slowly initially; seed at 0.5-1 x 10^6 cells/ml; maximal cell density at 1.5x10^6 viable cells/mL; 5% CO2; 37 °C 

Freezing Medium:

Complete culture medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
